Marvin United Methodist Church

Menders

Would you like to do local hands-on work year-round, as much or as little as you would like to? Marvin Menders provide minor repair work for the elderly and those in need. They do small projects ranging from replacing light bulbs and repairing fences to building wheelchair ramps. They also do bigger projects. They recently built a new fellowship hall for a small church in Jacksonville, and they have been involved in disaster recovery in this region.

A highlight of our year in missions is the annual Menders work weekend. The group traditionally spends the Martin Luther King weekend working on a remote project. They’ve renovated a church in Lott, Texas; worked on a church near Nacogdoches; and repaired several flood-damaged homes in Houston and Galveston, among other projects. In January 2012, the group worked on a church in Richards, Texas. Watch the video below to see the group in action!

The Menders do good work and enjoy great fellowship. Everyone’s invited to be part of this group! E-mail Melissa Brigman for information.
