Last night the Administrative Council voted unanimously to confirm last Sunday's vote regarding the capital campaign. The unanimous vote by the Council formally ends the capital campaign. Future repairs and maintenance will have to be addressed by the operating budget and the Eternal Flame Fund. A key factor in the vote last night was unity in Christ for our church. Thank each of you for your love of Christ and your love of Marvin Methodist Church.
Chairman of the Administrative Council
The capital improvement proposal presented at Feb. 11's church conference was 3 percent short of reaching a two-thirds majority for approval. The vote was 299 for and 178 against. The proposal will be returned to the Administrative Council for further consideration.
Dr. Doug Baker said, “The leadership of Marvin Church imposed a two-thirds majority vote to pass the proposal to insure that we can go forward on these projects with unity and with as much support from the church as possible. With every step in this two-year process, all feedback has served us well and improved the project going forward. I believe this will hold true in this case as well.”
