Music has always been a major part of inspiration and joy at Marvin Church. The centerpiece of our sanctuary music is the organ. For 131 years, Marvin Church has been a sacred place – a place of praise and worship – Sunday worship, concert series, handbells, adult and children’s choirs and many music offerings. The organ is a significant, uplifting instrument for every wedding and every funeral.

The organ offers worship that lifts up the soul, provides a connection to earlier generations of Christians and points to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of the world.

Why do we need a new organ?

The current organ is operating at an estimated 60 percent capacity and has many deficiencies. Organist Jonathan Story gives a demonstration below.

"The pipe organ is one of the most beautiful and complex musical instruments ever invented. Its development over the centuries has paralleled the growth and development of the church, and it finds its greatest use in the context of Christian worship. I am thrilled by the possibility of putting my talent to use for God's Kingdom at the console of a new Létourneau pipe organ, an instrument that will serve the congregation of Marvin United Methodist Church for the next century and beyond to the glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
-Jonathan Story, Marvin organist
